My reflection of my magazine.

 

This is the front cover of my magazine. I have chosen the name "the jaguar because a lot of magazines and bands on the media are named after animals e.g., dove. I decided to make the name stand out from the rest of the titles and subheading which is why it's in blue. I'm really happy with what I have created and especially with the photo. I decided to edit this on Microsoft publisher because it was easier at the time, and it let me create it from scratch instead of using a template which is what I wanted. I put the school logo in the corner because it would show which school the magazine belongs too and would also show that it was made by a pupil. Something I think I have done well with the front cover is choosing the image in retaliation to the subtitles. This is because the image shows the subheadings before you read them and also shows what they are going to be about. The picture in the background is eye catching and slightly alarming which would hopefully grab people's attention and make them want to read it. 

One thing I think I could improve on is making the colours brighter and filling in the gaps with more subheadings. Although it is how I imagined it to be the page is still quite empty and there isn't a lot going on. In the future I would take the photo with a proper camera to increase the quality and also make sure the space around it is more filled in. The title could also be more eye catching because it looks more like a subheading than a title. I could do this by making it bigger or a different colour. I probably wouldn't do a different colour though because that would draw attention away from the different colour of the magazine name. Overall, I am happy with my magazine front cover because it creates awareness and gives a good preview about what is going to be in the magazine.

This is my contents page which would be the second page in my magazine. I chose to have the background dark because it would make the textboxes stand out and the pictures too. I wanted this page to be simple but outstanding to the reader, so it isn't boring. Something I like about this page is the way it is set out and the title. This page is jarring, and it makes the photos seem like they are not on the page and that they are 3D. I put the titles in little shapes and shape boxes to make the page more creative and it make it easy to read. I put the school logo in the bottom left corner of the page again to show that this page belongs to the same magazine. The pictures correspond to the text next to it. Like the grooming about people reflects on the people in the photo and how it can be anyone. and the phone shows how you need to be careful online. 

Something I could have done differently was take some more photos and have some more pages onto the magazine to make people more aware and also fills up more of both the contents page and the front cover. My contents page doesn't look like the plan I did a while ago which I could have changed. However, I didn't have another photo and it was too late to take one by the time I was making the magazine. If I did this page again then I would take these photos on a proper camera so the quality would be better, and it would also be more professional. In conclusion I am happy with how my magazine has turned out and if I were to do another one or do it again, I would make sure that it was improved and was like the plan I created.
